REAR WHEEL DRIVE
The biggest advantage to rear wheel drive is that it spreads loads of the bike across both wheels. The rear wheel does the pushing while the front wheel is reserved for the steering duties. On a front wheel drive the front wheel must perform both functions.
RWD acceleration is better from a stop. A bike’s weight shifts to the rear part at the time of acceleration from a stop, which puts extra weight to the rear. As a result, the overweight increases the traction of the tires and promotes faster acceleration.

SEPARABLE AND ADAPTABLE
All Moulton bicycles are inherently more compact and most feature separable frames for storage or transport. This separability introduces no compromises other than a little extra weight; there is no loss of stiffness or ride quality.
UNIQUE SUSPENSION – FRONT
The Flexitor® front suspension system utilizes rubber in torsion, eliminating lubrication, wear, and ‘stiction’. This provides unparalleled shock isolation and a uniquely silky ride.
UNIQUE SUSPENSION – REAR
Full suspension is a fundamental feature of all Moulton bicycles. The Hydrolastic® suspension on the New Series Moultons features a rubber spring with adjustable fluid damping.
SMALL WHEELS
Small wheels with high pressure tyres have been integral to the Moulton design from the beginning. The combination of the lower rolling resistance of high pressure tyres and the lower aerodynamic drag of small wheels, allows the bicycle to go faster with less effort.
STIFF SPACE FRAME
The unique Moulton space frame, a highly engineered lattice of small diameter tubes, is far stiffer than a conventional diamond frame. This frame architecture fits riders of all sizes and the low step-through allows the bike to be mounted with ease by both sexes.

As you know, from our conversations over the last month or so, I have never driven, or owned a car, and cycled all of my adult life. I am awaiting a hip replacement operation which has been curtailed because of the Covid situation, and consequently walking is proving difficult every day. I decided, at the age of 71, I wanted to get my (hopefully) last ever bike. I have had a Moulton before, and loved the tradition of the company, and the interest it generated, from other cyclists. However, I wanted an e bike, because of my age and current situation with my leg. I Googled “electric Moulton” more in hope than expectation, and you can only imagine my surprise the Human Cycle website appeared. I spoke with you several times subsequently and I am now the proud owner of the beautiful bike in the Air Force Blue livery. I have only negligible discomfort in my troublesome leg, and the bike is so easy to ride, even when not in the electric mode. The sudden surge of speed when the motor is engaged makes you smile from ear to ear. You can probably tell I am absolutely delighted with my purchase, and I am so glad that I accidentally found your site. You have been unstintingly helpful in all our negotiations. I would recommend this bike to keen cyclists whatever their age may be.
